David C. Hardaway
David is originally from Dallas, but don't hold that against him -- he got to the Hill Country as fast as he could. After attending the University of Kansas for undergrad, David went on to law school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. While in law school, he fell in love with criminal law and was a member of our school's nationally ranked National Trial Competition Team. He also met his wife, Janice, in law school. After graduation, David worked at a civil litigation firm in Odessa and a criminal defense firm in Georgetown. He finally decided that he could represent his clients best if he was working for himself. His wife persuaded him that San Marcos was the right place to open his new law firm, and she was right. When not hard at work on his clients' cases, David volunteers his time with the American Cancer Society and is a member of the Hays County Bar Association.
Janice Bowden Hardaway
Janice was born and raised in San Marcos. She earned a B.A. Politics cum laude from Hendrix College, a small liberal arts college in Conway, Arkansas. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she was a Note & Comment Editor on the Arkansas Law Review and Justice of the Garland Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Janice also met David while in law school, and they were married in the Texas Hill Country just a week after taking the Texas Bar exam. Janice also handles criminal cases and assists David with a little bit of everything - law firm management, marketing, and web design, to name a few.
